Orange Buddha DP #39

Daily Painting #39 “Orange Buddha”

June 9, 2008

Yes it has been WAY too long since the last Daily Painting. But I am happy to announce I’ve completely changed my website and rebuilt it on my mac. Now it is much easier for me to upload photographs, blogs, and also have the store directly on the site and the buttons are linked straight to PayPal. The old format was getting to be a bit of a pain to try to upload new material. Now that problem has been resolved! I LOVE MY MAC!

My new site may change from time to time. I’ve been taking classes at the Apple Store called “One to One” where an Apple Trainer helps you with any of their software programs. This service is $99 for a year and you can have one class a week. It’s kind of like a gym membership – it works if you use it. Anyway, I threw that site up in a few hours and used one of their templates. One of these days I’ll play with the design and really make it unique.

Well on to the painting! This is an acrylic painting on a 10”x10” canvas. The subject is a statue of Buddha (again;). He has some metallic qualities in his face and the background reminds me of bamboo, grass or a green wood grain. I used brushes for this painting.

It was really nice to do a Daily Painting again I must say. For the most part, I’ve been busy designing my logo for my GodBlessHumanity site and a bunch of other things. I owe a big thank you to a few people out there who’ve inspired me to get my ass back into gear on this…. David Brown from INSIDE OUT (www.latalkradio.com), Elena Rosa who is now doing her own Daily Paintings (you rock girl!), and Laurie Santos my friend and Coach (www.coachesjointventure.com).

Things have been great in my life. Although the economy sucks and houses are going in to foreclosure left and right here and in other parts of the US, I keep finding myself happy for no reason (also the title of a great book;). I’m sure the meditations help. Also, that book by Eckhart Tolle called ‘A New Earth’ was a big help too. If you haven’t read it yet I highly suggest you do. Or you can just download the audio interviews on iTunes with him and Oprah - they’re great.

Well that is all for this one. Please feel free to check out my new site and I’d really appreciate any feedback (good or bad) on the new format. Let me know if it is easy to navigate, loading time, hard to navigate, etc. You won’t hurt my feelings I promise.

You can also find my paintings for sale RIGHT IN MY SITE. I figured out how to set it up directly with PayPal. These paintings are found in the STORE.

Both links still work, either http://www.GaylesPaintings.com or http://www.GayleEtcheverry.com

Have a great day!
Peace & Blessings,
Gayle Etcheverry
